P-1: Introduction starts on Nov 2nd, 2022
Hey, how do you do?
I’m Lama Federico Andino, but you can call me Fede. I’m in no particular order: an overrated cook, a father of two unruly teenagers who beat me at video games, a writer, a professor and researcher at Universidad del Salvador, in Buenos Aires.
I’m also one of the two Lamas teaching at our Buddhist NGO, on which a friend of yours is working through the first cohort of our special training in Buddhist meditation, ritual, and philosophy.
Why does this have anything with you?
Well, when we were thinking with Lama Sherab (the other Lama who teaches in the TRC) who should we invite to be part of our 2nd cohort, the conversation went a little like this:
-LS (he’s the serious, scholarly guy): well, who do we ask to join?
-LF (I’m the handsome one): I want to say “everyone” but that’s not only not workable, it’s no fun. I’d like to form a group of tightly knit, serious meditators who know how to kick back and be a group, not just a bunch of random persons.
-LS: I agree, but how to find those people?
Well, I would like to tell you we prayed to Manjushri, Buddha of Wisdom and Saraswati, the Queen of Intelligence, and they shone their light and blessings upon us. We prayed, but then we brainstormed ideas like anyone else. I won’t include those here, since I don’t want to take 10 pages that include somehow “magically hacking Facebook” to “moving to Sealand and growing a pirate fleet” to “I don’t have the faintest, sorry mate”.
Ultimately, it was Lama Sherab (see; I told you he was the serious one) who articulated it: we needed to find people who were cool, trustworthy and fun. And a good way to do it is to ask people who already went through the training.
So, this is where you come in: we’ve asked people we trust, and they recommended you. As a result, we would like to invite you to be part of our next cohort, starting on Nov.2, 2022.
This program will run for three months, on which you will learn:
• Basics of ritual and prayer for the tantric practice.
• Core concepts of the TRC and Buddhism as a whole.
• Meditation according to the tradition.
• Set up a special time for practice.
A forum is being set up so we can all interact daily. You will get monthly materials and we will have Q&A Sessions to answer all questions posted in the forum. You will get the links to it before we start.
Meanwhile, I wanted to say hello. If this sounds interesting, you can sign up to get more information about this by completing this form: https://forms.gle/8KgyS9AWPiYd27R27
If not, both Lama Sherab and I thank you and we’ll get out of your hair.
In Dharma
-LF (remember, the handsome one)
