About the event
- The Rimé movement emerged in the 19th century, particularly associated with influential figures like Jamgon Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye and Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö. It arose as a response to a more sectarian environment where different Tibetan Buddhist lineages (Kagyu, Nyingma, Gelug, etc.) sometimes competed for dominance.
- Rimé literally translates to "without bias" or "non-partisan" in Tibetan. It champions appreciating the unique strengths and practices of each tradition rather than promoting one over another. It is the movement that the TRC is part of.
We will give a brief introduction to the Rime movement, its lineages and practices, free and open for all.
