About the event
Though it is often the Tantras that are seen as the sorcerous body of teachings in Buddha Dharma, the Sutras are also rich with techniques to deal with obstacles that arise in our daily life. One of those teachings concerns Buddha Shakyamuni and the Eight Bodhisattvas. In this teaching, the Buddha gives 108 of his names, together with 108 names for Eight Bodhisattvas, together with their Dharani spell to activate their blessing and sorcerous power.
In the past, we have taught and released a small chapbook on the 108 names of Avalokiteshvara, in order to generate compassion and to dissolve those obstacles to harmony and understanding in our communities and environment.
At this time we will transmit the names and Dharani for Ksitigarbha. This Bodhisattva has the capacity to over come the most difficult obstacles, and goes to the lowest part of the hell realms in order to shine his lantern and guide beings out of sorrow, grief, guilt and all forms of oppression.
We welcome you to come and receive this transmission from Lama Sherab, the second in our aim of giving all the names and spells for the Bodhisattvas and Shakyamuni Buddha.
